When I bought my Macbook Pro with Retina Display back in 2015 it was one of the fastest laptops on the market. Four years later it is still extremely fast and reliable. But with the release of the new MacBook Pro 2019, and its spec increase, I have contemplated retiring my Macbook Pro for a newer one. The one thing some should know about owning any Mac is that it lasts a long time. With that being said technology improves very fast, and using a fifth generation Intel processor can be underwhelming with photo and video editing. Comparing that to the ninth generation in the new Macbook Pro, it is like night and day. But not all Mac users are editing video or photos, majority are reading emails, surfing the web, writing documents and watching movies. And if you’re in the majority group, then the fifth generation processors do just fine. In the end if you’re not doing demanding tasks on your Macbook Pro, then the older model is adequate but if your Mac through intense work loads like myself I think it’s best to upgrade to the new Macbook Pro.
